Maths Games Week

Maths is exciting this week  - we have decided to play different games to help our learning.  Over
half term families were busy designing and making their own maths games.  Some people brought their games in today and we have already started using them.

Others have used games already in school or played on computers and iPads.
Everyone agreed that maths was FUN today!

Fraction dominoes

Decimal competition!

Darcie teaches some friends how to play her game.

These boys loved playing the Snakes and Ladders maths games that Thomas made.

Welcome to Our World

During "Welcome To Our World Week" Owls class have been finding out what life is like in China.

Working in groups, the task was to find information about the country, food, farming and tourist attractions in order to make a book for someone who wants to visit China.
The children worked brilliantly in groups, demonstrating good team work, as well as  learning a lot of things.

The booklets were full of interesting information.  Some people had even written in Chinese!

Some people did some Chinese "take-away" maths answering questions relating to our favourite take-away menu.

The Chop Stick Challenge

We finished the week with a chop stick challenge. How many sweets can you pick up a with a pair of chop sticks?

Cara was the winner - she picked up 17 sweets in 30 seconds!  Well done!

Konga Block Fit

There was a real treat in store for everyone this afternoon when Hugo's Mum, Amy Bobbins, came in to do some dance fitness. After half term there will be a club for those interested on Fridays from 3.30pm to 4.30pm.
